ARTIST STATEMENT & BIOGRAPHY
I used to have cataracts. Once I had the lenses in both of my eyes replaced in 2013, I could see clearly again, and I realized what a beautiful place the world is. I have been photographing ever since. Before becoming physically disabled, I was an avid outdoorsman, which has influenced some of my photographic interests. I am interested in wildlife, still life, and landscape photography. I see beautiful things all around me, and want to record them and show them to others. Since I have difficulty getting around, I spend much of my time photographing at home.
I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. I attended Ohio University in the 1970s, and returned to go to graduate school in 1987. I am now in Athens to stay. I am a disabled Veteran. I joined the Athens Photographic Project in August of 2014. I have met many great people in the APP, and have learned a great deal about photography as fine art.
